Blaming Ourselves or others

This whole law of attraction idea makes some people think that it is blaming them for whatever has happened in their life. Like what about someone who is dealing with cancer, Parkinsons or Alheimers or some other awful disease? Or what about losing loved ones, son's or daughters, mother's or fathers? What about 9/11? Did we create that for ourselves? What about rape, crimes, being killed by drunk drivers and other awful stories? What about kids with awful diseases who were born that way? How do you explain all of the bad things that happen to us?

Did you create that?

I actually don't totally get this part myself. From what I have gotten from watching Eckhart Tolle on Oprah's webcast was that he lost both his parents in a short amount of time not to long ago. It isn't that he created that. It is more our reaction to things like that. If you are attached to others and think that when they leave your life for whatever reason that it makes you less special and less worthy of living - you are in your ego - you are believing that it is someone else that makes you whole or feel good about yourself.

If your feelings are telling you if you are headed upstream or downstream with your thinking as Esther Hicks said in her book "The Amazing Power of Emotions" what are your feelings telling you about these bad things that have happened? In the book she uses the example of grieving the loss of a pet and explains it as the relationship with the pet inspired you to be more in touch with yourself -to your source and now that the pet is gone, you feel less than whole.

The other example she uses is she talks about getting a serious health diagnosis. The issue isn't the diagnosis but more about your reaction to the diagnosis. You can react in fear or act in acceptance and focus on health instead of the disease. You didn't consciously create the disease so there isn't any blame.
